Game Concept Art and Visual Development

Mindshare Solution provides game concept art services, designing characters, creatures, environments and props so studios can settle the look of a game before modeling begins. It is for game studios and real-time projects that need a clear visual direction, finished as reference sheets a 3D team can build from.

At a glance

  • Deliverables: Characters, worlds and props, finished as production reference sheets.
  • Who it is for: Studios setting a new visual style or extending an existing one.
  • Process: Broad exploration first, then refinement at agreed review points.
  • After concept: Designs can move into 3D modeling and animation in the same studio.
  • How we work: Project-based, or flexible support with artists under your leads.

Concept rounds are there to answer visual questions while changes are still cheap, so sketches, colour studies and design iterations settle the look before anyone commits to a 3D model.

Concept work is most useful when it leads somewhere. Because concept art, 3D production and game development happen in the same studio, designs are made with production in mind: readable silhouettes, believable construction, and reference sheets a 3D artist can actually build from.

Exploration, then refinement

Early rounds are fast and broad: thumbnails, silhouettes and rough colour to explore different directions. Once you choose a direction, we refine it into polished designs with material callouts, colour variations and detail views.

For characters and props that will be modeled, we finish with production reference sheets, such as turnarounds and close-ups, so your modelers, or ours, have clear answers on shape and scale.

Working with your art director

We follow your existing visual language when you have one and help shape it when you do not. Feedback is gathered at agreed review points, and each round builds on the last rather than starting over.

For larger sets of designs, we build a shared style reference early, covering shape language, colour palettes and material rules, and check new designs against it at each review so the whole set stays consistent.

Concepts for characters, worlds and props

Character and creature concepts explore silhouette, costume and personality. Environment concepts set mood, scale and lighting for key locations. Prop and equipment designs make sure weapons, tools and set pieces feel like they belong to the same world. Together, they give your team one consistent visual reference.

We agree formats during scoping, for example layered source files plus flattened images for reviews and reference sheets.

We share work at agreed milestones. Early rounds focus on direction and later rounds on detail, so big changes happen when they are cheapest.
